Radiohead's 'OK Computer' Voted Best Record Of Last 25 Years

Radiohead Radiohead's third album OK Computer has been hailed as the greatest record of the last 25 years.

The 1997 release - which features iconic hits Paranoid Android and Karma Police - saw off competition from Oasis and Nirvana to be named the best album by readers of Q magazine.

Nirvana came second with Nevermind, while the Gallagher brothers' now defunct band took the third and fourth spots with (What's the Story) Morning Glory? and Definitely Maybe respectively.

Arctic Monkeys' hit Whatever People Say I Am That's What I'm Not was voted in at number five, while The Joshua Tree by U2 made number six.

The top 10 was rounded out by The Stone Roses' eponymous album, The Bends by Radiohead, U2's Achtung Baby and Muse's Black Holes And Revelations.

The Clown's Mouth: 'Vintage' Tiger Woods, Middle East golf

Rounding up a few of the week's stories that didn't quite merit the full-post treatment.

• Check out the LPGA's new ad campaign, featuring Natalie Gulbis signing in strange areas ...

• At the ACE Group Classic in Naples, Fla., John Cook reported that Tiger Woods' swing has finally "clicked," and that he should be back to his winning ways soon. We shall see, won't we? [Press Tent]

• In Thailand, Michelle Wie and Yani Tseng sit just one stroke behind In-Kyung Kim, who shot a record-tying 63 on Thursday but, unfortunately, was 10 strokes worse on Friday. [Golfweek]

• Great video here from Golf Digest's Dom Furore on golf in the Middle East. Well worth a watch for, as GD puts it, a "familiar game in an unfamiliar land." [Golf Digest]

Video: Dwyane Wade's newest Nike ad

Apparently Dwyane Wade(notes) is some amalgamation of a superhero in his latest Nike ad. It's a season-long campaign, that will see Wade (not as "Flash," which is unfortunate because Flash was a super-amazing movie; but as "D3") vanquish all manner of bad guys (from the Lakers, Magic, and Celtics; if we're reading this correctly) in advertisement form.

Actually, that doesn't sound half bad.

Identifying and Combating Duplicate Content Issues

Kevin Phelps

Duplicate ContentA recent post by Paddy Moogan from Distilled about when to use a 301 redirect and when to use a Rel =Canonical got me thinking about all the possible ways we can fight duplicate content issues.

First, for those who are new into search marketing; a duplicate content penalty is a consequence that the Search Engines impose when they find large amounts of text that have been copied from other sources on the Web. Some would argue that the search engines are simply filtering you out of the SERP’s (search engine results pages) in effort to deliver more relevant, fresh content. Anyway you look at it, you won’t benefit from it, and therefore it’s a penalty in my eyes.

Duplicate homepages can be seen as individual pages, possibly discounting the merit that your true homepage has earned. If your site homepage can be viewed like the examples below, you may want to continue reading to correct the error.

http://www.example.com or http://example.com are both good, but it needs to be one or the other.
http://www.example.com/index or /home or /homepage needs to be corrected.

There is also the possibility that someone has outright stolen your content. If that content you created has already been crawled and established itself in Google’s index, odds are that thief isn’t going to benefit on the search engines. Ideally they’ll just get filtered out.

Creating dozens of versions of the same article to distribute to article sites/networks is a rather popular link building technique. While I won’t take a stance on its effectiveness, if you use an article that is already on your site and create numerous versions of it, it can come back to bite you because the search engines can still see the correlation between the original and the copies spread all over the Web. It’s quite possible it could even discount those included links further.

Some shopping cart content management systems can have different paths to get to the same product or category page. Why is this an issue? Well if those two different URLs are going to the same product, then it’s fair to say that those are duplicate pages.

However, if you have a blog and you’re worried about your different categories having duplicate content because of the different categories you posted it in; the Search Engines are keen to this and understand blogs. Also, the more posts you get in those categories, the more it’ll mix up that content preventing any sort of duplicate content problem. Same story with post snippets.

One way is to browse your site to see if you have any of the examples above. Another is to type your URL into Copyscape. Keep in mind that when you do this, it is only showing you the result for that exact page that you entered, not sitewide. Also, it will not return results of duplicate content that you have on the same URL that you submitted your query for.

First, the odds of you hurting from other people stealing your content isn’t very likely. Lookup SEOmoz.com in copyscape.com and you’ll see that there are pages of results but because they were the originators of the content, it’s not likely that they’ll be filtered out or receive any sort of penalty.

If you have content that other people have copied or stolen, you can try e-mailing the webmaster and kindly asking them to take it down. Chances of them responding aren’t very likely so the best thing you can do is probably just forget about it. People steal content left and right on the Internet, dwelling on it is just wasting your time when you’re probably not getting penalized from it anyway.

Luckily if you are getting penalized because you have duplicate pages, it’s on your end of things and it’s relatively easy to fix. If you have duplicate homepage problems locate your .htaccess file.

Add the following code to redirect all your www-URLs to the non-www URLs:

RedirectMatch: 301 ^(.*)$ http://domain.com RedirectMatch permanent: ^(.*)$ http://www.domain.com

You’ll need to replace “domain.com” with your URL as well as change whether you want everything to go to www or non-www.

If you need to get rid of your /index or /homepage page problems you’ll need to implement a simple 301 redirect. This will also need to be specified in the .htaccess file using the code below:

Redirect 301: /badurl.htm http://www.example.com/

Change the example URLs to make sense with your particular situation.

Redirect 301 /index http://www.example.com

For more clarification, it’s telling the site to permanently redirect your /index to http://www.example.com leaving you with a clean URL structure. Now, all your duplicate homepages should go to either http://example.com or http://www.example.com, whichever you preferred.

For example, if you have a product site that has more than one way of getting to the product, those duplicate URLs could be hurting each other. For example:

http://www.site.com/ipods/skins/blue-ipod-covers vs. http://www.site.com/skins/ipods/blue-ipod-covers

Same page, different URLs. In this instance, using a rel=canonical tag is in your best interest. Using it will tell the major Search Engines that the page that copies your other page should be treated as one in the same. For example:

If http://www.site.com/ipods/skins/blue-ipod-covers isn’t the correct page, and you would rather have http://www.site.com/skins/ipods/blue-ipod-covers be the main page, you’d want to put a rel=canonical tag on http://www.site.com/ipods/skins/blue-ipod-covers. This way the Search Engines understand that it’s a user-generated duplicate page and that you want all the links and other metrics to be directed towards the right page. No longer will the search engines be confused on which page to display or give credit too.

Using the rel=canonical tag is an alternative to programming a 301 redirect. A 301 redirect is still the preferred way to guarantee the search engines understand your intent to move content from one URL to another.

In addition to fixing potential duplicate content issues, treating the two separate pages as one can help any keyword cannibalization that could be going on.

Dina Lohan Fuming With 'Glee' Again

Dina LohanLindsay Lohan's mother Dina has taken aim at the makers of Glee for a second time after they poked fun at her in the latest episode of the hit series.

In the show, which aired on Sunday, newsreader Katie Couric informed Jane Lynch's character Sue Sylvester she had been named one of the world's biggest losers, along with Dina and her dog "Sparky Lohan".
The actress' mom was fuming at the reference and has urged Glee bosses to stop making "hurtful" references and instead produce "nice" scenes.

She tells E! News, "The show has targeted everyone from gays to lesbians, Asians, disabled and each other... several groups are going after the producers including mothers' groups. It's a shame as the dance numbers are amazing, but the writers need to be nice and more creative as opposed to being hurtful. They are sending the wrong message to the youth that are watching."

"Oh, and I must get a 'fifth' dog named Sparky... as far as Katie Couric is concerned, she has a short memory when the tabloids were trashing her a few years ago - and she's a mom!"

Last year, Dina threatened legal action against the show's makers after Gwyneth Paltrow's character poked fun at her troubled daughter.

NFL sets up rare conference call to review officiating blunders

As first reported by Jay Glazer of FOXSports.com, the NFL has made a rare move by scheduling a conference call involving all the league's officials. The call will take place Friday, and the primary discussion point will be the wave of controversial calls made recently. Glazer brought up two calls that will likely be at the head of the agenda: The Ben Roethlisberger(notes) fumble-that-was-not-a-fumble call in the Steelers-Dolphins game, and the overturned Visanthe Shiancoe(notes) touchdown catch in the Vikings-Packers game.

Both calls have been ripped in the media, and though Vikings head coach Brad Childress was recently fined $35,000 for calling the Sunday night contest "the worst-officiated game I've ever seen" and revealing the content of confidential conversations with the league's officiating arm, the fact that those calls may have decided close games in each case is most likely the main reason for the increased focus.

First-year VP of Officiating Carl Johnson went over both of these calls on Wednesday's "Official Review" segment, the NFL Network's weekly conversation between Anderson and Rich Eisen.

Johnson said that the Roethlisberger play was properly handled by the officials on the field (another "good call/bad rule" situation in that the officials were tasked with clearly seeing a Miami recovery in this case, which is nearly impossible in the scrums you see after fumbles), but he did say that he wished the Shiancoe touchdown had stood instead of being overturned. There was no talk of the holding that the Vikings' offensive line got away with late in the game, but certain Favre-protection-related things will likely go unspoken into the future.

It will be interesting to see what is said in this conference call, and what the effects of the call will be. Here's my question: Why aren't these types of calls to go over blown penalties and rule review a regular (perhaps even weekly) NFL staple? We know that these guys all have day jobs, and that the league doesn't seem intent on making officials work full-time, but perhaps it would be possible to coordinate everybody's lunch breaks once a week so we're sure everyone's on the same page.

Tracy McGrady 'is not like Chris Bosh and selling out (Toronto)'

Add Tracy McGrady(notes) to the long list of two NBA players who wants everyone to know that they, in fact, are not Chris Bosh(notes).

Let's let Not Chris Bosh tell it as he sees it:

Interesting approach, Not Chris Bosh.

It is a bit strange that Toronto fans still choose to boo Tracy McGrady, 10 1/2 years after he left Toronto to play for the Orlando Magic. Ten-and-a-half years after he decided to go play in his home state, for his favorite team.

Ten-and-a-half years after he decided to leave a team with no head coach (after the last head coach it had, Butch Carter, had been fired for deciding to sue a former Raptors centre, Marcus Camby(notes), for libel) and an as-yet-undecided future with 2001 free agent Vince Carter(notes) to go play for a team featuring possibly the game's best all-around player in the NBA at that point in Grant Hill(notes).

Whew.

I still think Not Chris Bosh made a smart, understandable move in leaving Toronto for Orlando back in 2000. I just wish Raptor fans would stop treating Not Chris Bosh like they would Chris Bosh.

Party's over for Padres: A-Gone is just that after trade to Boston

Multiple sources are reporting on Saturday morning that the San Diego Padres and Boston Red Sox have agreed on a trade that will finally send first baseman Adrian Gonzalez(notes) to Fenway Park for a package of minor leaguers. Dan Hayes of the North County Times reports the crop will include three of Boston's top six prospects — pitcher Casey Kelly, first baseman Anthony Rizzo and outfielder Reymond Fuentes.

Gonzalez is currently in Boston, where he'll undergo a physical and then attempt to negotiate a contract extension with the Red Sox that would begin in 2012.

The ramifications of this deal are pretty clear. The Red Sox will get the Mark Teixeira(notes)-type MVP contender that they have long coveted for their lineup. They'll sacrifice a few top prospects, but it's a fair price in their eyes (and mine, too) to acquire a franchise cornerstone and play keeping-up-with-the-Joneses against the New York Yankees. It's scary to think how A-Gone will perform now that he'll be playing half of his games with that short right field at Fenway Park instead of in the spacious pastures of Petco Park. (Gonzalez hit 11 home runs in San Diego in 2010, compared to 20 on the road.)

Meanwhile, the swap is a loud indication that the Padres won't get nostalgic about their unexpected success in 2010 and will stick to their plan of stockpiling and cultivating young and cheap talent. In addition to this Gonzalez trade, Ken Rosenthal of Fox Sports is reporting that the Padres will "absolutely" trade closer Heath Bell(notes) at some point this offseason.

This undoubtedly won't go over well with Padres fans, but you can't blame the team's front office here. San Diego didn't score many runs or attract many fans with the presence of Gonzalez, a friendly hometown guy playing for the team he grew up supporting. Why lock him into a deal expected to approach Teixeira's $180 million that would hamstring the franchise while adding other players for the next eight-nine years?

It's the business of baseball and the Padres are already proving themselves adept at realizing the differences between big and small markets. They didn't get sentimental with Jake Peavy(notes) in 2009 and sent him to the Chicago White Sox for a package of prospects. Just over one year later, Peavy is a gigantic injury question mark that will cost the White Sox $33 million over the next two years while the Padres still have one of the best young pitching rotations in the league. Time will tell if the Padres GM Jed Hoyer picked the right prospects from the Red Sox (the team he used to work for), but he has made the right move in remaining flexible while building his team of the future.

Why Multiple Domains are Mostly Bad for SEO

Scott Smoot

It happens all the time, and causes me to scratch my head in complete confusion every time: Someone I’m working with on SEO will own multiple domains for the same business. I don’t mean that they have a couple related domains, I mean the same business and same offerings or services on more than one domain.

I usually find out about these domains in one of two ways: I find them through poking around and investigating the site (and the client usually acts like it’s some sort of dirty secret), or, they come to me about the domains and want more than one site to show up at the top of the search results.

I’ll be honest, I’m not usually a happy camper when I get this news; mostly because the secondary domains tend to have duplicate content (if you’re not aware, duplicate content is a bad thing). That being said, however, there is such thing as effectively using multiple domains (although I don’t recommend it). There are two main tactics commonly employed with owning multiple domains. Keep in mind that I’m going to keep an SEO perspective on these and only lightly touch on other marketing sectors.

Some businesses are worried that competitors will buy keyword oriented domains thereby pushing their own site into obscurity. This can lead to a panic shopping spree of domains. The idea is that as long as they own the available domains, there is less chance of a competitor beating them in the rankings. While there is some merit to this tactic, it will have no effect on your SEO at all. Nor do I believe that it will really have much effect in blocking out your competitors. You can’t think of all the domain variations and buy them all, and if you buy too many, it can get expensive just to maintain them. Any competitor can rank better by offering better content and getting more links regardless of domain name.

As a side note, if you do this tactic, you had better make sure that all of your domains are redirected toward your main domain using a 301 redirect.

In buying multiple domains, some companies want to simply dominate the search results. Buy having multiple sites on the first page, you can get that much more traffic, right? In theory, yes, and it has on occasion happened. However, there are some fairly serious drawbacks to this:

Doesn’t work on brick-and-mortar stores — If you have  a single physical location, it’s not a good idea to have multiple websites. You’ll confuse your visitors and customers, and I personally avoid having two websites with the same address. Google doesn’t want to have multiple sites from the same business (as it doesn’t provide good results) and I consider this to be one short step away from spam. Duplicate content woes — Because you can’t use the content from another site, you will have to write all new content. Considering how hard it is to write content for sites as it is, not to mention the allocation of resources to get it written, I wish luck to anyone writing content for a whole new site.Double branding all the way! — You have branding issues with two sites. Does one site become higher-end and the lower-end? Do you keep the prices the same? For that matter, what names are you even going to use on the site? If you have a phone number, how do you answer the phone? While there are certainly going to be exceptions (such as targeting different demographics), such a chaotic and divisive branding effort comes with a lot of risks and extra work.

This is less of a tactic, and more of a “must do,” and is therefore my exception to multiple domains. It’s an exception because all of the problems above do not apply when you get into other countries. In fact, in order to have the best results in international SEO, you’ll need to have a country specific TLD (or top level domain). For example, if you’re doing business in England, you will have a hard time ranking without a .co.uk domain. You can still rank without a country level TLD, but it’s an uphill battle. And by uphill, I mean Rocky Mountains-type uphill.

One final (and big) point to that I would like to reiterate. If you really intend to own and run multiple domains and get these sites to show up in the search results, you will have to double your SEO work. There are no shortcuts, freebies, or quick rankings that you can get, even if you are already ranking well for your main domain. In fact, a new domain and site will be significantly harder to rank than a site that has history and some authority already built. I highly recommend that indented listings (or secondary pages for the same site showing up underneath the first main listing) be the primary goal before attempting to achieve multiple domains in the same search.

Alicia Keys Gets Existential After Childbirth

Alicia Keys

Alicia Keys has taken to her blog to talk about life after childbirth, saying her newborn son Egypt with Swizz Beatz is an inspiration to more than just songwriting - although she "feels a song coming on," too!

"I'm most enamored with anatomy at this point. The miracle of the human body," she writes. "The ability to create all these small amazing machines of veins, capillaries, digestive systems, eyes, ears and noses. I can spend HOURS looking at one little EAR!"

She continues, "Have u ever noticed how complex just an ear is? A tiny maze of art. It may sound silly but it's so true. Or a heartbeat? Everyday we wake up and in some way, take for granted the fact that this beautiful pulsating organ in our body is the reason, and yet now that's all I can think of..."

She ends her post with "Oooh! I feel a song coming on..." Sounds like one happy mother! You can read the entire post on Alicia Key's official blog.

Former NASCAR exec named to NFL Hall of Fame

This Super Bowl weekend was all-NFL, all-the-time, but for a brief moment, there was a NASCAR connection. (And no, I'm not talking about the Danica commercials. We're all over that now, aren't we?)

Les Richter, one of the key figures in NASCAR's rise to prominence, was named to the NFL Hall of Fame for his sterling playing career. An eight-time Pro Bowler, he was once traded for 11 players, and his team, the Los Angeles Rams, waited two years for him to serve a military commitment.

After retiring from the NFL, Richter played several key roles in motorsports, including co-owner and president of Riverside Speedway, co-founder and chairman of IROC, vice president of NASCAR, and partial developer and vice president of California Speedway. Sadly, Richter only passed away last June.

"On behalf of all of NASCAR, I’d like to congratulate the Les Richter family on his selection to the Pro Football Hall of Fame," said NASCAR Chairman Brian France in a statement. "Les lived a wonderful life and had a remarkable career that transcended two of our country’s major sports."

Richter could have a long wait for the NASCAR Hall of Fame, but by all accounts, he's worthy of that as well. Congratulations to his family on the high honor.

Saturday Six-Pack: Saint Mary's and Utah State go for broke

BracketBuster Saturday is here, but there's one made-for-TV showdown that will attract the eyes of the nation — and the NCAA tournament selection committee — more than any of the others.

Hopefully, you'll stay up late enough to watch it unfold.

Let's get to it …

No. 25 Utah State at Saint Mary's — 9 p.m. EST (ESPN2)

The loser here will officially need to win its league tournament to secure an NCAA tourney bid. The winner might still have to, as well. Saint Mary's looked like it was going to have a sliver of wiggle room coming in, but that went away with Thursday's shocking 74-66 loss at San Diego. How bad was it? It was only the Toreros' fourth victory this season over a Division-I opponent, and they became the lowest-ranked RPI team (311) to notch a win against an RPI Top 50 opponent. It's a safe bet that this will be the most intense game played all day, and it's definitely worthy of your attention.

No. 4 Pitt at St. John's — 12 p.m. EST (ESPN)

The Johnnies are playing with a bit of house money here, which makes them even more dangerous. After winning five of their last six, including victories at Madison Square Garden over Duke and UConn, they appear to be safely in the field of 68 barring a complete meltdown. Pitt, it appears, will have leading scorer Ashton Gibbs back from a knee injury for this one. The Panthers have won all three games they've played without him, and still have yet to fall on the road this season. Flip a coin here, folks.

Washington at No. 12 Arizona — 6 p.m. EST (ESPN)

Arizona is riding a 7-game win streak that began after an 85-68 blowout loss at Washington on Jan. 20. Since then, though, the Huskies are just 1-3 on the road, and if they want any shot at a Pac-10 regular season title still, this is a must-win. The Wildcats are a game ahead of surging UCLA, still, at 11-2 in the league, and can keep the pressure on the Bruins with a win here. They'll travel to Westwod to try and sweep that season series next Saturday. It's worth noting that while Washington is again having a tough time winning Pac-10 away games, Arizona is 6-0 at home in league play.

Illinois at Michigan State — 9 p.m. EST (ESPN)

Who would have ever thought a few months ago that these two would be playing for their NCAA tournament lives on Feb. 19? Illinois, who already beat the Spartans once, is 17-9 overall and 7-6 in the Big Ten, while Michigan State is 14-11 and 6-7, respectively. If Sparty doesn't protect the home floor here, it's conceivable that Tom Izzo's club could finish Big Ten play with a sub-.500 record. On the other side, since Jan. 6, Illinois has yet to win back-to-back conference games, and almost got stunned at the buzzer on a miracle heave at home on Wednesday night against Michigan. The 9 p.m. tip is intriguing and might favor the home team, and if you're on Michigan State's side, you'll take any help you can get right now.

Georgia at Tennessee — 1 p.m. EST (CBS)

Similar to Illinois and Michigan State, both of these teams are fighting to boost their at-large profiles. Georgia blew yet another second half lead at home on Wednesday, falling to Vanderbilt, 64-56, after the Commodores closed the game on a 24-3 run. Getting away from Athens might not be a bad thing here for the Bulldogs, who are 17-8 overall, 6-5 in the SEC and should be much better than that. Tennessee has the better non-conference résumé between the two, with victories over Villanova, Pitt, VCU and Memphis, but has to finish the regular season hot to remain on the radar.

UNLV at Colorado State — 7 p.m. EST (The Mtn.)

This should be another dog-fight, with — surprise, surprise — both teams jockeying for position both on the bubble and in the Mountain West Standings. Colorado State is the league's biggest surprise this year, is 8-3 in the MWC and beating everyone it should be. The Rams have a chance for a rare season sweep of the Rebels here, which would all but cement them in third place in the league behind San Diego State and BYU. That's crucial, as they'd prefer to avoid the No. 4 vs. No. 5 match-up on the first day of the MWC tourney. As for UNLV, who is two games behind CSU in the loss column, it actually has a great shot at stealing third away with a win here, as CSU still has to travel to face both the Aztecs and Cougars. The loser of this one, though, is in serious danger of blowing a shot at the dance.

A few others worth keeping tabs on: George Mason at Northern Iowa (7 p.m. EST, ESPN2); Montana at Long Beach State (9:05 p.m. EST, ESPN); No. 8 Notre Dame at West Virginia (1 p.m. EST, CBS); Boston College at No. 19 North Carolina (4 p.m. EST, ESPN); No. 3 Texas at Nebraska (1:30 p.m. EST, ESPN3).

Ryan Greene also covers UNLV and the Mountain West Conference for the Las Vegas Sun. Read his Rebels coverage and follow him on Twitter.

Hilary Swank's Coral, One-Shouldered Gown: Hot Or Not?

Hilary Swank

A very svelte looking Hilary Swank attended the 14th Annual Hollywood Awards Gala in Beverly Hills on Monday wearing a short, coral-colored dress.  We've seen her show off her figure in sexier dresses. What do you think?

Hilary stars in the upcoming film "Conviction" opposite Sam Rockwell.  In the film, Betty Anne Waters (Swank) and her brother, Kenny (Rockwell), survived bad parenting and poverty by leaning on each other for support. Kenny winds up getting convicted for a murder he swears he didn't commit. His sister believes him and, without even a high-school diploma, sets about going to law school in order to figure out a way to free him.

Relatives of the murder victim portrayed in Swank's new movie are considering legal action over allegations they were not consulted about the real-life story's journey to the big screen.

The Shutdown 40: #17 - Mark Ingram, RB, Alabama

With the 2010 NFL season in the books, it's time to turn our eyes to the NFL draft, and the pre-draft evaluation process. Before the 2011 scouting combine begins on February 24, we'll be taking a closer look at the 40 draft-eligible players who may be the biggest difference-makers when all is said and done.

We continue our series with Alabama running back Mark Ingram. By far the most complete and pro-ready back in this draft class, and there are some who believe that in 2011 at the running back position, the draft is comprised of ‘Mark Ingram and everybody else.' While we're a long way away from being able to make such value judgments, Ingram's production against elite competition - and when he was frequently a point of focus of enemy defenses - was impressive enough to insure his status as a sure top-of-the-first-round draft pick.

In 38 games for the Crimson Tide, Ingram ran 560 times for 3,202 yards and 40 touchdowns. In all those carries, he rushed for just 62 negative yards, and under 10 negative yards in a game just once in his entire career. 2009 was his banner year, when he won the Heisman Trophy and Alabama won the national championship. Ingram rushed 271 times for 1,658 yards and 17 touchdowns. 2010 was a disappointment from a productivity standpoint, he gained just 816 rushing yards on 146 carries after missing the first two games recovering from knee surgery.

Pros: Great on-field awareness - Ingram doesn't outrun his blockers and can start and stop in short spaces with impressive efficiency when he needs to hit a seam or find his way out of a flock of impending defenders. Has a very quick burst upfield; when he gets going in a straight line, he's very tough to stop. Has a well-muscled build (5-foot-10, 215 pounds) and he's able to bounce off first contact. Runs low and hard through tight gaps at the line. Ingram can read and make cuts in short areas at top speed, and his speed to and through the hole makes him an especially effective runner on draws and delays. Good receiver on screens, swing passes, and quick throws up the middle - he turns upfield quickly and accelerates for yards after catch.

Cons: Though he has great on-field speed, he's not an elite burner, and there are a few things that give pause when projecting him at the NFL level without his current  supporting talent. Quite often, Ingram went straight through a chute at the line because his blockers were able to overwhelm enemy defenses. He may be more of a rotational back n the NFL because he doesn't push the pile very hard - he may struggle in short-yardage situations against more stubborn and resistant defenses. ON a strong team with a good offensive line, he should be good to go, but may not be able to transcend a less optimal situation.

Conclusion: Perhaps Ingram's primary appeal is that while he does a few things exceptionally well and he does have a high ceiling, he also has an impressively high floor - there just aren't too many things he doesn't do well. He can provide just about any kind of running you want, understands blocking and ball security (just two fumbles at Alabama), he's a good receiver, and he's a team leader. Alabama coach Nick Saban, who isn't known to be impressed by much, has spoken as well of Ingram as just about any player he's ever coached. It's often seen as slightly pejorative to call a player a safe pick - the thought being that the player in question isn't impressive in a flashy sense. Ingram has as much flash to his style as you'd like, but his main asset as a pro prospect is that he has such a well-defined skill set.

This actress channeled her inner Eskimo while leaving her home in New York City earlier this week. She sported a long down jacket with a fur lined hood and knit gloves as she ventured out for the day.

It's Liv Tyler!

Liv stars in the upcoming film "Super" about an average guy (Rainn Wilson) who reacts to the frustration of losing his wife (Tyler) by adopting a crime-fighting persona known as The Crimson Bolt, and targeting any criminal who crosses his path - no matter how minor their infraction may be.

UFC featherweight division should be inviting to new talent

Jose Aldo has set the standard at 145 pounds but the featherweight division isn't without hope now that it's part of the UFC. There are no financial limitations when it comes to bringing in talent from outside the organization and now the UFC has little more ammo to work with when pitching its smaller lightweights that it may be time to drop a weight class.

Top candidates to bolster the 145-pound roster

1. Clay Guida
2. Jim Miller
3. Joe Stevenson
4. Mark Bocek
5. Cole Miller

Others with UFC and outside the promotion: Matt Wiman, Mac Danzig, Nik Lentz, Efrain Escudero, Marlon Sandro.

Josh Duhamel To Replace Regis Philbin?

Regis Philbin has announced he plans on retiring from Live with Regis and Kelly -- and sources are saying actor Josh Duhamel may be the frontrunner to take his spot.

Josh DuhamelLive with Josh and Kelly? Sources from ET are saying that Transformers actor Josh Duhamel may be replacing Regis Philbin once he retires. The hunky actor is a favorite of Ripa’s -- and we can see why!

Fergie was asked if the rumors were true -- and she remained coy. "Wow! Do they have Vegas odds on that? Right now he is actually in New York filming New Year's Eve."

When she was asked again -- she would only say, "You’re going to have to ask him that question."

What does Regis Philbin think of Duhamel replacing him? "I haven't heard that name yet. That's a good name. Actors have careers that are pretty good to them -- this is a daily thing every morning, so they've got to consider that before they get involved."

Duhamel’s publicist flatly denied the rumor, saying, "There is no truth to the story."

Other names that have been thrown around as possible replacements include Anderson Cooper, Survivor host Jeff Probst, Carson Daly and even Ripa’s husband Mark Consuelos.

Tell us: Who do you think should replace Regis Philbin? Read on for more Fergie and Josh Duhamel

Channing Tatum: 'No One's Calling me for Lawyer Roles'

Channing Tatum GQ

Channing Tatum has to be one of America's most fun movie stars, he's also crazy (it's his life motto). Don't believe us? Just ask Jessica Pressler, GQ's writer who spent twenty-four hours deep in the California Desert with "Chan" armed with glow sticks, tequila, snacks, and Snuggies.

Before camping out together (don't worry, he called his wife [Jenna Dewan] first!), the pair spent the night bar hopping through a tiny mining town, mingling with the locals, and touring the area's abandoned bordellos.

During their journey, Tatum opened up about his stint as a stripper, "I'm not ashamed of it. I don't regret one thing. I'm not a person who hides sh--"; being type casted as a beefcake, "No one's calling me for lawyer roles. I still have a lot to prove to myself"; and why doing his own stunts is important, "I think people pay money to see the actor go through a wall. I want to be like, 'Holy sh--, Johnny Depp actually jumped off that building. That guy's f--king crazy. I want to be him.'"

The new issue of GQ hits newsstands on Tuesday, Feb. 22.
